Trailside Lunch for Mountain Bikers in Mountain Village, Telluride

We're in the Meadows, right where a handful of Mountain Village trails come out. Ride down, park the bike, eat something hot. Just get here before 3.

Heads up for summer 2026: the Town of Mountain Village has said the Telluride Bike Park is closed this summer. The wider cross-country trail network around Mountain Village is still open, still free to ride, and still reachable on the gondola — so the trails below are the ones to plan around.

There's a Trail With Our Name On It

Big Billie's Trail is an intermediate half-mile run that starts on the south side of Country Club Drive, drops about 200 feet, and comes out at Big Billie's Apartments in the Meadows. Same neighborhood we're in. We didn't name it, but we're not going to pretend we mind.

And it isn't the only one that funnels down here. The Meadows sits at the bottom end of several trails, which is the whole reason a hot lunch at the bottom of Lift 10 is worth knowing about.

Getting Here With a Bike

The gondola between Telluride and Mountain Village is free and takes bikes, so you can ride down, load up and get back across without a car. One thing to know before you roll in: there's a bike dismount zone through the plazas in Mountain Village Center, so you'll be walking it through that stretch.

We're at 330 Adams Ranch Rd in the Meadows, at the bottom of the Sunshine Express (Lift 10) and the Chondola (Lift 1). No reservations, no dress code, nobody minding a bit of trail dust. Order at the counter and take the patio if it's free.

The one catch: hot food goes out 11am–3pm. Trails run a lot longer than we do, so if lunch is part of the plan, ride the loop that puts you here before 3. Call (970) 728-6900 if you want to check before committing to it.
