The easy stop at the bottom of the lift, where nobody's dressed up and nobody cares.
Big Billie's sits in the Meadows, right where the Sunshine Express (Lift 10) and the Chondola (Lift 1) let out. It's the kind of place you walk into in whatever you've got on — ski boots, a bike helmet, a kid on each hand — order at the counter, and eat without ceremony.
Chuck's Famous Chili is the thing people ask for by name. Past that: Billie's burgers, an Ultimate Grilled Cheese that takes the idea seriously, quesadillas, a meatball sub, four salads made fresh daily, and deli sandwiches built every morning for grabbing on the way through. Kids get their own menu, and it comes with fries.
Hot food goes out from 11am to 3pm. There's nothing to reserve and no list to get on — you walk up, you order, you sit down. And the open-air patio is genuinely the best part: sun, mountain in front of you, the game on if there's one worth watching, and no particular reason to hurry.
In summer the same spot works just as well. The Meadows sits at the bottom end of several Mountain Village bike and hiking trails — including one actually called Big Billie's Trail — so the patio fills up with riders and hikers instead of skiers. More on that here.
We're on Adams Ranch Rd in Mountain Village, at the bottom of two of the mountain's busiest lifts. If you're heading up, we're on the way. If you're wrapping up, we're right there. Either way it's hard to miss us — look for the sign.
